International Women’s Day at Mermaid Quay

Date: Saturday 8th March 2025
Time: 12pm to 2pm

Mermaid Quay is set to mark International Women’s Day 2025 by shining a spotlight on women thriving in roles traditionally perceived as male-dominated. Taking place from 12pm to 2pm, the event will bring together key organisations and local businesses to celebrate the achievements of women across various sectors.

Visitors to Mermaid Quay will have the opportunity to meet representatives from South Wales Police and Police Youth Volunteers, Hawksdrift, the Welsh Ambulance Service, and the RNLI. These organisations will showcase the vital contributions of women within their teams, demonstrating the diverse career opportunities available to women in uniformed services and beyond.

Alongside these inspiring organisations, Mermaid Quay will also celebrate the success of women-led independent businesses. Fabulous Welshcakes and Zia, two thriving local businesses based at Mermaid Quay, will be sharing a table and available to chat with visitors about their entrepreneurial journeys.

Families are invited to take part in a range of fun activities, including a children’s colouring station. Adding to the atmosphere, live music will be provided by Wrenna, who will perform from 12:30pm to 1:30pm.

The event will be filmed and photographed by Grace Springer.
